享受明星光環是許多青少年的夢想之一，不過，一向看似風光的音樂產業，一樣得面臨大環境現實問題與個人特質問題，英國搖滾團體電台司令警告，音樂工業正面臨崩解危機，想要投入的新鮮人入行前要三思，至少要具備創意在艱困環境中尋找出路。

英國搖滾團體電台司令（Radiohead）自從在2007年離開大唱片公司EMI後，自行在網路上提供歌迷服務，其主唱湯姆約克（Thom Yorke）在接受一家高中教科書廠商專訪時，特別語重心長地提醒想要進入音樂界的後進之輩，現在不要「貿然與唱片公司簽約」，以免讓自己「陷入泥沼」。

約克對於傳統唱片業的起落，憂心溢於言表，他表示，「（倒閉）只是時間問題而已，」他更唱衰唱片業，最快「幾個月」內就會倒閉。

根據《滾石》雜誌報導，電台司令最新專輯獲利遠比前張專輯好，原因可能在於電台司令最新專輯開始嘗試在網路上以「隨意付費」的方式提供歌迷下載歌曲，該張專輯並曾在2008年1月1日的《告示牌》排行榜一度躍居冠軍。
